1 This is the account of the genealogy of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son also of Abraham:
2 Abraham begat Isaac;
Isaac begat Jacob;
Jacob begat Judah and his brethren.
3 Judah begat Perez and Zerah by Tamar;
Perez begat Hezron;
Hezron begat Ram.
